At least one burglar cut a hole in the roof of a vacant business in Arcadia, tunneled into a neighboring jewelry store and stole jewelry and cash over the weekend.
Police didn’t say the estimated amount taken but Feihong Zhao Feihong, the store owner, wrote in a GoFundMe that every bit of jewelry, gold and cash in L & Z Jewelry were all taken.

The thieves also wreaked havoc at the business, which is at 1019 1/2 S. Baldwin Ave.
“Our alarm system, safe and cameras were also broken,” Zhao wrote. “My wife & I put our life savings into starting this business so we could give our daughter a better life. Now, we are forced to start all over.”
The burglary happened between 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, and 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, according to a police statement.
Police got a call at 10:47 a.m. Saturday about the burglary.
The burglar or burglars tunneled their way into the jewelry store’s safe room, police said.
