If you would like to skip the makings of a Thanksgiving dinner, both The Cats and Los Gatos Meats and Smokehouse can help simplify your holiday.
The Cats is offering an all-you-can-eat BBQ Buffet in their historic roadhouse setting that’s been a part of Los Gatos since 1896. Smoked turkey, maple-bourbon glazed ham and Southern-style sides are on the menu, or bring the feast home with Thanksgiving freshly prepared to-go meals.

To dine in on Thanksgiving, The Cats also has three seating times on Thursday, Nov. 27: 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Make reservations or order take-out at www.thecatslosgatos.com.
Another take-out option is a one-of-a-kind Tumble Turkey from Los Gatos Meats.
“We may be the only place that offers Tumbled Turkey,” says Carol Coletti, shop manager and daughter of owners Johnny and Donna Chiala. “Tumbling enhances turkey and locks in natural juices without using salts or phosphates. No need to hassle with brining your turkey at home; we have taken care of that for you without the heavy salt used in a typical brine. All you have to do is heat it up!”

Holidays are a busy time, so here are a few things to put on your calendar:
First presented in 1999, Fantasy of Lights is now in its 27th year and has become a cherished holiday tradition at Vasona Lake County Park. Drive through large, animated displays while listening to holiday music on your car radio or take a leisurely stroll through the park with family and friends. The more than 50 themed displays include an erupting volcano in the Dinosaur Den, Santa shooting hoops, a pen of penguins and pirate cannons.
The Fantasy of Lights Walk-Through events are Saturday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 7, 4-9 p.m.
Admission only with prepaid tickets, which go on sale Saturday, Nov. 1, at 8 a.m. www.parks.santaclaracounty.gov
The annual Los Gatos Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place Friday, Dec. 1, in Town Plaza Park, located at Main Street and Santa Cruz Avenue. The event will begin at 5 p.m., with the lighting at 6 p.m. sharp. Free photos with Santa in the park will immediately follow the lighting until 7 p.m., and a trolley car will replace the now-retired horse carriages.
The 68th annual Los Gatos Children’s Christmas/Holidays Parade will take place Saturday, Dec. 2, when bands, floats and dignitaries will travel down East Main Street and North Santa Cruz Avenue.
