Bay Area News Group boys athlete of the week: Ashish Naveen, Dougherty Valley

Dougherty Valley water polo player Ashish Naveen is the Bay Area News Group’s boys high school athlete of the week for Oct. 27-Nov 1.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Naveen finished with 52.1% of the vote. Half Moon Bay football player Paxton Holden (43.9%) took second and Christopher football player Adrian Leon was third.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Naveen, a senior, had eight goals, four assists and three steals to lead Dougherty Valley to a 25-10 victory over Pittsburg. He also had two goals and three steals in a 10-9 win over Dublin.
