SAN JOSE – A pair of pedestrians suffered life-threatening injuries when two vehicles collided Wednesday in San Jose, according to authorities.

The crash happened just before 11 a.m. near North Monroe Drive and Cherrystone Drive, the San Jose Police Department said in a social media post.
The pedestrians – described by police as two women – were taken to an area hospital.
Additional details about the crash were not immediately available.
North Monroe Street was closed in both directions from Peachtree Lane to Sunny Vista Drive following the crash. Just after 6 p.m., police announced the roadway had reopened.
