A man was shot to death Friday afternoon in the East Oakland hills, authorities said.

Authorities did not identify the man immediately but said he is believed to be in his 30s. He died at the scene.
The killing is the 25th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year.
The shooting happened about 12:45 p.m. in the 8100 block of Fontaine Street, just south of Interstate 580, authorities said. Officers found the man down when they arrived.
Police were working to determine a motive of the shooting. They did not announce any arrests or identify any suspects.
