Foster City has a new brunch spot serving up comforting breakfast fare with a Thai fusion twist.
At Toast in Town, you’ll find brunch dishes like pandan French toast ($16), croffles with bacon and cheese ($20) and a Dungeness crab omelette ($26), plus a selection of salads, sandwiches, benedicts and burgers. On the drinks side, select from among a rainbow of bright, refreshing drink options, like a watermelon strawberry frostie ($5) or an ube latte ($6).
The restaurant, which opened in mid-March, is the project of Montree “Tony” Ngamwittayanon, who grew up cooking with his mom and owns other Thai restaurants in San Carlos and San Mateo, according to business partner Honey Pipatpollakai. This is his first restaurant focused on breakfast foods, though, she says.

The restaurant’s name comes from the dual meaning of the word “toast” as both a cozy warm bread slice and a celebratory speech. In a similar vein, the restaurant is aiming to be breakfast-y, homey and celebratory, she says. To round out those cozy vibes, the space is carefully designed, with greenery and natural lighting.
