The fatal shooting happened around 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 11 at a business in the 900 block of McLaughlin Avenue, San Jose police Sgt. Jorge Garibay said in a news release.

Officers arrived to find Khoa Dag, 35, of San Jose, suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Garibay said. Dag was taken to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Garibay said detectives identified Mac, a resident of San Jose, as the primary suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Mac left the area after the fatal shooting and is believed to have fled to the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area, Garibay said. His current whereabouts are unknown.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the killing are still under investigation.
