EL CERRITO — A 41-year-old man was arrested in connection with a stabbing Thursday morning in El Cerrito, according to authorities.

The stabbing was reported around 11:25 a.m. in the 10300 block of San Pablo Avenue, the El Cerrito Police Department said in a news release. Officers arrived to find a 55-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the stomach.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.
Officers later found and arrested a suspect, identified as an unhoused man. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
