Two men identified in separate deaths along Bay Area creek

The Solano County Coroner on Monday identified two men who died under different circumstances in unrelated incidents earlier this month in the Alamo Creek area in Vacaville.

The men were William Currry, 35, whose death was reported on May 4, and Rajvir Uppal, 59, whose death was reported on May 15, the Coroner confirmed.

The Coroner did not cite their respective cities of residence but indicated their next of kin had been notified.

News of the men’s deaths came in a Vacaville Police Department social media post on Monday.

The information indicated the two died near a wooded area near the Southside bike trail and the Alamo Creek. After thorough investigation, both deaths were not considered suspicious, as there was no evidence of foul play.

Curry was determined to be a homeless person who appeared “to have suffered a medical emergency,” police said.

Uppal’s death, according to the post, occurred in Alamo Creek and was precipitated by “a fall from an elevated, unmarked dirt path, which runs alongside the Alamo Creek.”

“We want to reassure our community that Vacaville’s parks and trails remain safe for public use,” the police department post reads. “The safety and well-being of our residents and community are our top priorities, and we continue to work closely with city departments to maintain a secure environment across all recreational areas.”
