Despite being in only eight states, In-N-Out Burger is No. 1 on a list of the top 25 Burger Chains in the United States released by the crowd-sourced review website Yelp.

The list cites a loyal fan base contributing 119,000 reviews, fresh ingredients and a not-so-secret menu as reasons the Irvine-based chain made it to the top.

Also based in California, The Habit Burger & Grill came in at No. 2, followed by New York’s Shake Shack, Wisconsin-based Culvers, which doesn’t have any California locations, and Carlsbad-based Islands Restaurants.
Other Southern California restaurants on the list include Jack in the Box, No. 11, and Fatburger, No. 21.
The list was made up of businesses categorized primarily in the “burgers” category on Yelp that have more than 100 locations in multiple states.
