2 DINE: A new Daytrip beckons
When the culinary hotspot Daytrip in Oakland closed late last year, the East Bay lost one of it more popular and most heralded restaurants. Now a new version, called Daytrip Counter, has opened on Telegraph; it’s a tad more informal but still serves up that “flavor maximalist” California cuisine. Here’s our early impression.

3 WATCH: A worthy ‘Life of Chuck’
Stephen King may be one of our best and most beloved horror/thriller writers, but his works haven’t always fared well when adapted for the big screen (“Children of the Corn,” anyone?). But fear not, his novella “The Life of Chuck” has just been made into a terrific film, and it opens this weekend.
