One dead, two injured in Bay Point shooting

BAY POINT — One person died and two others were injured in a shooting Saturday morning in Bay Point, according to the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department.

Officials said deputies found one person suffering from gunshot wounds in a house’s front yard just before 1 a.m. in the 2100 block of Mendocino Drive, a residential neighborhood.

First responders “immediately performed life-saving measures,” but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release Saturday.

“He is not being identified at this time,” officials said in the release.

Two other victims “transported themselves to a local hospital” for “non-life-threatening” wounds, according to authorities.
