Thousands of people packed large protests in San Jose, Oakland and Walnut Creek, many waving signs and chanting as speakers took to microphones. In all, more than 50 separate protests involving tens of thousands of people were expected in the Bay Area on Saturday, stretching from Gilroy north to Santa Rosa and from San Francisco east to Antioch.
