‘Pokemon Go’ introduces game-changing new item with Gold Bottle Caps

‘Pokemon Go’ introduces game-changing new item with Gold Bottle Caps

“Pokemon Go” players are always hunting a perfect pocket monster. These are the ones with maxed out stats that are great to have for bragging rights and moments when trainers are short of the optimal raid group.

Otherwise known as hundos, these are some of the most sought-after creatures in “Pokemon Go,” and they’ll be easier to acquire thanks to the upcoming additions to the game. Beginning with the Go Pass Deluxe: Ancients Recovered as part of the leadup to Pokemon Go Fest, the developers are introducing the concept of hyper training.

Starting at 10 a.m. June 23 and running to 6 p.m. June 29, players will have the opportunity to grab a Gold  Bottle Cap if you purchase and complete the Go Pass Deluxe. Using it on a Pokemon will allow them to increase a Pokemon stats. That means favorites that are close to being perfect (Those 98% ones or slightly lower) can obtain hundo status through the training.

You can use it once for one Pokemon, according to the game’s website. To kick it off, the creature needs to be a good buddy or higher, and players can only choose one stat — either attack, defense or HP — to boost at a time. Whatever they choose, players need to use it quickly because this limited time item expires July 6, 2025.

As for the actual training, players will have three options depending on what stat they want to boost. According to the “Pokemon Go” website, it’s broken down to this:

Attack: Battle with you trainee buddy

Defense:
Build a bond with your buddy by playing, exploring or catching with the buddy in tow.

HP:
Explore with your buddy and spin Pokestops, earn buddy candy or take on other adventures.

Don’t lollygag with your training. Once activated, players have 365 days to complete the Hyper Training Tasks.

What is the Go Pass? It’s a new element that the developers introduced. It features a free track and a paid one. It’s essentially a reward system that encourages players to jump into the game every day to catch Pokmeon, do research tasks and spin stops. The free track has some nice items available to all, but the paid deluxe track has additional items that players can obtain for money.

It’s comparable to what other Niantic games such as “Monster Hunter Now” have done in the past. Best of all, if you can’t afford it at launch, players can buy into the pass and get credit for past work. Buying the deluxe pass just opens up a second set of rewards. The Go Pass Deluxe sells for $19.99.
