The iPhone maker paid $166.9 million to buy a three-building campus near its Cupertino headquarters, according to documents filed on June 24 with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office.
Apple bought the buildings, known as Cupertino Gateway, in an all-cash deal, the county records show.
Cupertino-based Apple had already been leasing the buildings from a real estate firm that sold the property to the tech company.
The primary address for the office complex is 10200 North Tantau Avenue, according to real estate documents.
The deal shows that Apple is taking steps to strengthen its holdings in Cupertino by owning more buildings that it had been leasing.
In recent years, Apple bought other office properties that it had been leasing in Cupertino, in a similar approach to this recent transaction.
By happenstance, Apple also recently sold an office building in north San Jose to another tech titan, Samsung.
The office complex that Apple has just bought on North Tantau totals roughly 220,700 square feet.
