CFB recruiting: Pittsburg star Jamar Searcy commits to Wake Forest

CFB recruiting: Pittsburg star Jamar Searcy commits to Wake Forest

Pittsburg running back Jamar Searcy has committed to Wake Forest, he announced on X on Monday night.

Searcy’s announcement comes just over a month after he decommitted from Washington State, following head coach Jake Dickert’s departure from the Pac-12 school to Wake Forrest.

The 5-foot-8 running back verbally committed to Washington State in June and signed his letter of intent on Dec. 4. But after Dickert filled the head coaching vacancy at Wake Forest on Dec. 18, Searcy announced he would reopen his recruitment a day after.

Searcy received offers from SMU and New Mexico earlier this month but decided to follow Dickert to Wake Forest.

“I wanna thank (Dickert) and (running back coach Effrem Reed) and the rest of the staff for believing in me and trusting me to perform my god gifted talents for the next 3 to 4 years,” Searcy wrote in the X post.

Searcy was an all-BANG first-team selection as an athlete and received all-league first-team honors.
