Bay Area’s top offensive lineman commits to Oregon, flipping from Cal

After decommitting from Cal on Monday, four-star Archbishop Riordan offensive lineman Tommy Tofi has already found a new home.

On Wednesday, the rising senior announced that he is committing to the University of Oregon. The 6-foot-6, 330-pound offensive lineman held multiple offers from Power Four schools, but is now slated to join Dan Lanning’s program in Eugene.

Tofi earned all-Bay Area News Group Honors in his sophomore and junior seasons. He is a two-time all-West Catholic first-team selection and earned co-junior of the year in 2024. He’s ranked the No. 97 player nationally in the class of 2026 by 247 Sports.

Tofi helped Riordan advance to the second round of the Central Coast Section playoffs last season.

The Riordan standout took a visit to Oregon over a week ago and told 247 Sports’ Brandon Huffman, “One thing that I learned about this trip is that this program has three missions they want to accomplish this year: the Joe Moore Award, to win the Big Ten again and win a National Championship.”

Tofi’s brother, John Tofi Jr., is a rising freshman linebacker at Cal. Both also played basketball this past season under Riordan coach Joe Curtain.

Tofi’s exit is a big loss for Cal as the Golden Bears also lost three-star Hawaiian offensive lineman Koloi Keli to Oregon on Monday.

Oregon’s 2026 class is ranked 15th, according to 247 Sports. Cal’s class currently sits at 30th.
