The closure affected trains on BART’s green line between the Berryessa and Daly City stations.

BART spokesperson Chris Filippi said at 7:40 a.m. that BART had re-opened the line after fixing the problem. Major delays in the Berryessa, Richmond and Daly City directions remained, he said.

The closure caused trains to be turned back at the Union City and Bay Fair stations, according to Filippi. Customers traveling to Oakland and San Francisco were encouraged to start their trip at the Bay Fair station on a Richmond-bound train.

AC Transit honored BART fares and bussed passengers between the Bay Fair and Hayward stations on one line and the Hayward and Union City stations on another one.

Filippi said the computer issue on the track happened between the Hayward and South Hayward stations.
