Alexander Norris, 29, had been charged with taking $600 from an alleged sex worker’s bra during a dispute about how much money she was making for him. Norris was out of custody and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in June, but instead the Alameda County District Attorney’s office dismissed the case for “lack of complaining witness,” according to a minute order.

Norris was charged in early April, but the alleged robbery happened on March 29. Police said they found text messages that indicated Norris was pimping the woman and expecting her to reach a $1,000 nightly quota. The alleged robbery happened near 10th Avenue and International Boulevard and the woman reported it to area patrol officers, according to court records.

Norris was arrested the same night as the robbery but posted $100,000 for his release from jail on April 4, records show. He pleaded not guilty and was still out of custody when the case was dismissed.
