OAKLAND — Equipment worth an estimated $4,000 was taken during the burglary of a truck belonging to the Mexican national soccer team, authorities said.
The burglary, which happened in a parking lot in the 400 block of Eighth Street, was discovered about 7 a.m. Monday. The truck had been parked in the lot since late Sunday night.
The team was staying at a nearby hotel.

Authorities said the loss included a machine for cleaning cleats, exercise equipment and other items.
The equipment was still missing Wednesday. No suspect information has been released.
The Mexican team is scheduled to play Japan in a friendly match Saturday at the Oakland Coliseum. They last played on July 6, beating the United States by a 2-1 margin in the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup, played at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
