The Cardinal were picked to finish last in the ACC, and while the defense has improved from last year, the offense is even worse – 130th out of 134 FBS teams in yards (223.5 per game) and tied for 125th in scoring (11.5) . . . BYU dared Stanford to beat it through the air in Week 2, and the Cardinal passing game couldn’t get anything going, averaging 4.4 yards per pass with two interceptions and no touchdowns. Stats that matter: Stanford had 19 rushing yards against BYU last Saturday, its fewest since 2021 at Arizona State. … The Eagles had a conference-best 17 INTs last season. … Stanford has one offensive touchdown in eight quarters so far this season, while BC has scored 106 points in its two games … Stanford defensive tackle Clay Patterson has recorded at least one sack in both games this season.
