Santana Row’s $50 dining deals

For the first time, Santana Row is introducing a Taste the Row culinary event, with specially priced menus offered from this Friday, Sept. 19, through Sunday, Sept. 28.

Besides showcasing the wide array of restaurants, Taste the Row was developed with pricing simplicity and consistency in mind, said Collette Navarrette, spokeswoman for the upscale San Jose destination that combines retail, restaurants, housing and office space.

All of the restaurants are offering $50 menus that include an appetizer, a main course and a cocktail or glass of wine.

Here, in alphabetical order, are the 14 participating restaurants and their pre fixe menus. Reservations are suggested.

Augustine: For the first course, Gem Lettuce Salad with SunGold tomatoes or Cucumber Gazpacho. For the entree, Flank Steak or Summer Squash Cannelloni. The drink is one of two wine selections or an elderflower-prosecco spritz.

Dumpling Time: Menu 1 is a Shrimp Toast appetizer, followed by the XLB Combo with other dumplings. Menu 2 is Marinated Cucumber Salad followed by Potato Gyoza and vegan fried rice. Both menus come with sangria.

EMC Seafood & Raw Bar: For the first course, Crispy Calamari or Yellowtail Ceviche. For the entree, three choices: Uni Pasta or Seafood Pasta with Red Sauce or Black Pepper Beef Mignon. The special drink is a Drunken Teddy.

Fitoor: For the first course, select one from six appetizers including Tandoori Green Garlic Prawns and Fig Paneer Tikka. For the entree, select one from several choices including Old Delhi Butter Chicken and Roasted Lamb Kosha Mangsho. Four choices for the drink, and dessert is included.

Fogo de Chao: For the first course, make unlimited trips to the charcuterie, salad and seafood bar. For an entree, select a fire-roasted cut of meat from Picanha, Fraldinha, Roasted Chicken Breast or Lamb Picanha. The drink is a Caipirinha cocktail.

LB Steak. Both lunch and dinner options offered. At lunch, Caesar or Iceberg Wedge followed by Wagyu Steak Frites or New England Lobster Roll. At dinner, Iceberg Wedge or Little Gem Salad with fruit, followed by Westholme Brisket or Sea Bass. The drink is a mocktail.

Left Bank Brasserie: For the first course, Quenelles de Brochet (seafood). For the entree, Poulet Basquaise (chicken served with a piperade base). For the drink, select either a Pimm’s cocktail or a glass of chardonnay.

Meso Modern Mediterranean: For the first course, Mezze Platter with hummus, smoked eggplant, pita bread. For the entree, Lamb Shank Tagine with Ratatouille. The drink is a Passion Fruit Mojito (cocktail or mocktail).

Momosan: For the first course, Mimiga, an izakaya pork specialty. For the entree, either Curry Ramen with katsu chicken or Hiyashi Chuka, a Japanese-Chinese fusion noodle salad with ground miso pork and surimi. The drink is a Sake Lychee Frost.

Ozumo: Three courses: Kyushu Karaage, Nigiri and Honcho (shrimp tempura, snow crab, spicy tuna, salmon sashimi, avocado, spicy aioli, unagi sauce). The drink is an Aizu Homare sake.

Oveja Negra (at Hotel Valencia): For the first course, Spicy Chicken Croquettes or Tomatillo Gazpacho. For an entree, Braised Beef Cheeks with garlic confit mashed potatoes or a vegetarian option, Creamy Wild Mushroom Rice. The drink is sangria.

Pizza Antica: For the first course, Fried Calamari with olives, lemon, aioli, For the entree, Tuscan-Style Ricotta Gnudi with pomodoro sauce, pecorino and basil. The drink is a choice among three wines.

Suspiro: For the first course, a Tapas Sampler Platter. For an entree, Pollo a la Brasa or Pescado with seasonal vegetables or Grilled Flatiron Steak. The drink is a wine pairing.

Zazil: For the first course, Queso Fundido (with chorizo or soy chorizo) or Guacamole with Chips. For an entree, select from Enchiladas Suizas, Flautas de Papa or Tacos Vegetarianos Ensenada. The cocktail pairing is a Zazil Margarita or a zero-proof Placebo.
