OAKLAND — A man shot Sept. 27 on a Lake Merritt area cul-de-sac marred by violence in the past has died from his wounds, authorities said Monday.
Isaiah Ireland, 24, who lived in another area of Oakland, died Friday night at a hospital where he had been since the shooting.
The shooting happened about 3 a.m. Sept. 27 on a cul-de-sac in the 1300 block of Lakeshore Avenue next to Lake Merritt where a large group of people had gathered.
Ireland got into a dispute with another person, who ended up shooting him, police said.
Other people present drove Ireland to a hospital before police responded to the scene. The shooter fled before police arrived.
