Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) girls Athlete of the Week poll.
For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from Oct. 27-Nov. 1.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

On to the nominees:
Isabelle Agnost, Acalanes flag football: Against Montgomery in the NCS first round, Agnost carried the ball 15 times for 186 yards and three touchdowns, including two runs of over 40 yards, as Acalanes won 56-6. Against Campolindo in the NCS quarterfinals, she carried 16 times for 94 yards and two scores as Acalanes won 19-0.
Caeli AuYeung, California flag football: The senior quarterback completed 15 of 23 passes for 142 yards and two TDs as California beat Clayton Valley 13-0 in the NCS quarterfinals. She added 15 completions on 22 attempts for 131 yards as Cal beat College Park 19-6.
Carmen Kelly, Leigh water polo: The junior scored eight goals and had an assist and a steal in a 22-5 win over Evergreen Valley, added five goals and two steals in a 10-6 win over Willow Glen and had three goals and a pair of steals in a loss to Leland.
Liliana Levin, Prospect water polo: The senior scored four goals on four shots as Prospect beat Independence 23-9, then added four assists in a narrow 8-7 loss to Westmont.
Kaitlyn Liu, American tennis: Liu, a junior who is the No. 1 singles player in the Mission Valley Athletic League, helped lead American to finish off a 14-0 league season by winning her match on Thursday against Washington. It is the first undefeated MVAL season in school history for American.
Maggie Kruger, Las Lomas flag football: The Knights junior completed 16 of 24 passes for 149 yards and a score with no picks as Las Lomas beat Castro Valley 6-0 in the NCS quarterfinals. In a round of 16 win over Berkeley, she completed 12 of 19 passes for 165 yards and a pair of scores.
Sofia Tedesco, Homestead water polo: The senior scored three goals and had three steals in a 5-3 win over Cupertino, then added three goals, two assists and two steals in a 7-5 loss to Lynbrook.
Samantha Tow, Carlmont flag football: In last week’s 29-13 win over traditional rival Sequoia, Tow caught three passes for 120 yards and two TDs, averaging 40 yards per catch. She also had multiple flag pulls on defense.
Katie Vail, Granada flag football: The senior completed 29 of 40 passes for 212 yards and five TDs as Granada routed Heritage 33-0 in the NCS quarterfinals. Against Alameda in the round of 16, she completed 30 of 43 passes for 351 yards and three scores as the Matadors pulled out a 26-20 win.
Sam Winter, College Park water polo: The junior goaltender had eight saves against Alhambra, seven against Clayton Valley and seven more against California as College Park went 3-0 last week.
