She was found about 7 p.m. Wednesday at a homeless encampment adjacent to the Hesperian Boulevard/Spring Lake Drive off ramp from Interstate 238, authorities said. The California Highway Patrol is the investigating agency.

Authorities have not said if the woman lived at the camp.

The woman was covered or wrapped in some sort of plastic sheet when she was found, but whether the material was placed there by someone else or used by her as some sort of covering is not known, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the death may call the CHP’s Golden Gate Division special investigations unit at 707-917-4491.
