Berkeley police launch probe after triple stabbing leaves 1 dead

The Berkeley Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after finding three people suffering from stab wounds a little after 12:22 p.m. Saturday afternoon near the 1300 block of Russell Street in southwest Berkeley, near San Pablo Park.

Officers were in the process of responding to a stolen vehicle investigation when more calls came in to the police department from witnesses saying there were several people lying bleeding on the ground, according to the department’s Public Information Officer Jessica Perry.

They found three victims, two male and one female, with stab wounds, and took them to the hospital for medical treatment. The woman has since died of her injuries and the two men are currently both in stable condition, according to Perry.

The homicide investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be provided as available, according to Perry.
