Grand theft: Between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Dec. 31, someone stole a purse left in the dining hall at the Saratoga Retirement Community on Fruitvale Avenue. The purse and its contents were valued at approximately $4,700.
Residential burglary: Between 2 p.m. on Jan. 4 and 11:55 a.m. on Jan. 6, someone entered a residence in the 18000 block of Easton Place by breaking a rear sliding glass door. The house was searched, but details of any stolen property were not provided.

Jan. 7

Vehicle burglary: Between 5 p.m. on Jan. 6 and 9:20 a.m. on Jan. 7, someone broke through windows of three vehicles parked in the 19000 block of Braemar Drive. Nothing was reported stolen. The total amount of damage was approximately $970.

Check fraud: A Saratoga business reported that someone used the business’ bank account information to forge and cash a check totaling approximately $6,800.

Residential burglary: Between 8 p.m. and 9:10 p.m., someone entered the accessory dwelling unit (ADU) of a residence in the 12000 block of Paseo Cerro by breaking a window. The ADU was searched, but nothing was reported stolen.

Jan. 11

Vandalism: Between 6 p.m. on Jan. 7 and 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 11, someone broke a flagpole attached to a trailer parked in the 13000 block of Trinity Avenue. The total amount of damage was estimated at approximately $300.

Jan. 12

Residential burglary: Between 12:10 p.m. on Jan. 10 and 12:38 p.m. on Jan. 12, someone entered a residence in the 13000 block of McDole Street by breaking a rear sliding glass door. The house was searched, but details of any stolen property were not provided.
